I grew up in Newark's Valisburg neighborhood during the 90's. When I was living there it was mostly loosely knit crews representing a block or a certain housing complex. For example, The ZOO Crew from Baxter's terrace. Anyways, I left so I can go to college down south and I just came back this year and things are different. All I hear about now is Bloods and Crips. I was driving down South Orange AVE and seen about 15 or so kids dressed in all red. When did gang culture become this big in NJ? What are the cops doing about this?
It's big business. Everywhere you used to have local burger joints. Now you've got Burger King, McDonalds, and Wendy's everywhere. Same with gangs, except instead of burgers it's drugs, murder, and mayhem.
You could say the same for the suburbs....what are the cops doing...it seems like nothing....and its getting worse... Its not at Urban levels but still bad , its connected to the Urban areas....so killing the suburban gangs will kill most of the Urban gangs... And where are the parents?

Get real. I cant stomach the burbs but how are you gonna compare the suburbs of NJ to Cities like Newark, Trenton, AC, Jersey City etc etc.
