You can get her a great bottle of wine for $25 or under. Go with booze and you never looze.

It is pricey!

The best deal is to go for lunch, afterward you get to exit through the back door and you are right on the Grounds. You can walk off some of those calories.
Lunch at Rats is quite a bit more reasonable.

We go every year for the office "holiday" party

Unless, of course, the receiver is a recovering alcoholic or hardline religious teetotaler, which happened at 2 of my previous jobs.

LOL. They can still always re-gift it...or perhaps fall off the wagon and as next year's present you get their job.

I'm in the same boat but with a broke 21 yr old female intern.

In the past it was never an issue because the name that I drew was always someone I sort of knew on some personal level so it was either a gag gift, booze, or something I KNEW they would like. This year I'm stumped as well and will most likely end up with an Itunes gift card.

Hey Maverick, maybe a paid subscription to CougarLife.com??? LOL

If she's in her mid 60s not sure if she'll like a calendar/gratitude journal but she will appreciate the thoughtfulness

A gift card to Dunkin' Donuts is another thought (if the person is a coffee drinker).

Gift cards are always usable, but I know at my office they discouraged them only because everyone had been doing them and the gift exchange was less fun.
Our office does the secret santa but with the feature that you can trade so it makes it more lively. The other gifts that seem to be desirable (in demand) which were not mentioned (and i do think the gift pass to grounds for sculpture is great by the way).... pretty "throw" blanket (I have seen very nice ones crocheted at TJMaxx for example in that price range)... spa set (either the products or the slippers and towels sets-- at Bath and Body works they usually have soe excellent promotions and gift sets
)... just some other ideas.
