My wife and I are expecting our second child and have decided that our 1br on the UWS will no longer cut it.

We both work need to have our child (soon to be plural) at daycare and our selves to work by around 7:40. I'm close to the Hudson, she's close to the East River, around 80th st.

We are considering moving to Tenafly, but we are worried about getting kids to daycare and selves to work. Most daycares don't open until 7 at the earliest.

Does anyone know what time we would have to leave to get to work on time (driving), and possibly any daycares that are open at that time.

Also, does anyone have experience with a similar situation?

Thanks,
Adam

Tenafly is a town full of issues , you don't want to move there. Have you looked into Cresskill or Closter?

I am not sure what the issues are...we recently moved to Tenafly,NJ and I find it to be a nice town if you can afford it.
Adam,
I just started my research since I have a 1 year old. I cannot be of much help but i can give you some pointers.
Red and Tan has a line that goes through GW bridge, so I think that might be convenient to you. It stops in Tenafly downtown and you can park there using resident pass daily.
Regarding Day care we just started researching, I will PM you more details.

There are racial issues and Corruption issues which have been brought out recently at Light Rail meetings , which have turned into Anti-Rail shoutings. A few dozen residents shouted "we don't want the LRT to bring the lower class folks into our town" & other worse things. Which has people in surrounding towns and online branding them a racist town.... The Corruption is in the police Dept , same can be said for Cresskill to a lesser extent.

For UES travel it only takes 2 buses very quick ones NJT 186 to GWB then MTA M98. M98 hit's the highway from GWB. Then for UWS use subway line A or 1 line. In this case transit is mostly faster than the drive due to routing.

Default Thank you for the replies

We are still dragging our feet some, but it seems like there are a few different routes to get to the bridge from Tenafly, which is nice.

Most NJ towns along the Hudson River offer multiple routes to the GWB. Some towns even boast better, faster, and more routes than Tenafly does.

Did you ever make the move? We are also considering a move to Tenafly. Was wondering if anyone had any insights on the elementary schools?
