Hi. I need urgent help on this matter... I am close to finalizing a deal to move to Flanders/Mount Olive (07836) and my place of employment is in Rochelle Park, N.J. (near Hackensack and Paramus). I need to know how long my commute will be if I move to the Flanders area. I need to be at work by 7:45 AM and occasionally at 7:30 AM. At what time will I have to leave Flanders in order to get to Rochelle Park by this time?

I currently live in Edison and it takes me about 1 hour to get to work so if I leave between 6:45 and 6:55, I can get to work close to 7:45. I usually take the NJ Turnpike in the morning.

Any advice will be a HUGE help!!!

Thank you in advance!

1.3hrs on a normal day , with traffic up to 2hrs which isn't unheard of....I-80 can be a pain in both directions.

my husband has to be in work at 8, gets on 80 just west of you and gets off 80 just west of you - he leaves 6:30am and is never late (save the occasional accident ONLY, not because of traffic). most times he's at work around 7:40am. his commute in total miles is more than yours will be (assuming you're about 5 min from 80).

Hey! Thank you for your reply! I've really been under a lot of stress about this possible move to Flanders. I would actually have to be on Rt. 206 for about 4 - 5 miles before catching Rt. 80 east. Do you think it is realistic to get to Rochelle Park by 7:45 AM if I leave Flanders by 6:30 AM? Or what is the realistic time???

Thank you so much!!!

i would leave a little earlier in the beginning and gauge. i know exactly the area you're moving to. it's a funny thing because my husband leaves around 6:30 and gets to work around 7:40 BUT if he leaves later (10 or so minutes) it'll take longer and he most likely would be late. he'd rather leave earlier and get in earlier and have less time in the car. he leaves at 4 and it's a rare night he's home after 5.

my husband's commute is 40 miles each way total, we live about 7 miles from 80 and his office is about 2 miles from 80 - so he's on 80 ~30 miles.

Really?

I went to Google Transit and put the trip times in, and got 2 hours and 38 minutes. By car, that trip is supposed to take less than an hour.

If the OP were crazy enough to make that trip by transit, the best way would be to take the Montclair-Bontoon Line to Wayne for the #748 bus, and then go to Paterson for the #770 bus.
