Default Why is Hudson County, NJ not part of NYC

Manhattan is the center of NYC, but it's not really in the center like other city centers in world cities. If Hudson county was consolidated, Manhattan would become more or less in the center plus it's so close and it's closer to Manhattan than Staten Island, which is NYC to begin with so it would make sense if Hudson County was NYC too. I think NJ border should start with Hackensack river and Newark Bay. I suppose parts of Bergen should be joined too. What do you think?

Its clearly attached to NJ , only a transplant would propose merging the 2.... There not even on the same level , Jersey City is quiet , while NYC is congested and party central. This proposal is just as wacky as extending Manhattan to Governors Island....

OK get in your time machine go back to when the State/Colonies were made, and some how convince the king that the Hudson river should not be the line.

Why is Staten Island not part of NJ? It is closer to NJ than it is to NY.

Good call. Let's start redrawing state lines. While we are at it lets take parts of Canada.

True too. Reason I said it like that, NYC is the megapolis here.

Better yet, let them keep Staten Island and we could make Manhatten part of Hudson County.
