Need Idea for Friend Moving to South Orange (East Orange, Irvington: salons, new home)

I have a friend who is moving to South Orange from Laramie, Wyoming. Another friend and I were thinking of getting her a gift certificate to some local spa, salon, recreational place, restaurant, local store, etc that she could use to begin exploring her new home. But of course, we've never been there ourselves. Does anyone have any ideas on something unique to South Orange that would make a good gift "location"?

Get her an EZ Pass for her car. It's the little box that allows you to zip thru the toll booths. They have a website. NJ EZpass?

I moved to South Orange a little while ago myself, and the best thing I can think of is a gift card for Starbucks! There is one right by the train station and where everything is located in the town square, and she will definitely go there all the time like we all do.

Otherwise, we mostly have mom and pop stores and restaurants in town, since it's a village. The is a cute little flower/decoration store called Jardiniere, which has really nice things.

Get her a street map or navigation system so she can avoid travelling through East Orange and Irvington!

if your not able to find anything in south orange, livingston mall is only about 10 min away.

There is a very nice but pricey spa salon in Milburn...very close about 3 miles. It's called Subway. I don't remember any great spa/salons in South orange. There is one in neighboring Maplewood called Anthony's. I went to both a year or so back but preferred Subway.

What about to the Eden Gourmet, they just moved to maplewood and they have really great food!
