Does anyone know of an agent local to Edison, who might help me sell a condominium for a somewhat reduced commission? Not looking for a handout, but just really hurting right now.

But was it in the MLS? Beyond putting the listing in the MLS, how much effort do you expect to get from an agent who's working for a reduced commission? They won't have much $$ for marketing, and they're going to focus on their listings that will pay more (I know- that's "unethical", and no real estate agent does anything that's unethical..... ).

Understood....I just thought I remembered reading something about some agents cutting their rates recently because of the bad market.

You should be able to get for 5% instead of the usual 6% but that isn't going to save you much. If you do list it in the MLS yourself, just make sure you price it well and are prepared to pay in the neighborhood of 3% to the buyer's agent.

FSBO is not the MLS. You can do all the listing work. Still offer % to any agent who gets it sold.

I just don't get the discount game when it comes to Realtors. You are picking someone to sell the biggest asset you own(typically), worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Why would you even consider having someone manage that process who is working for anything less than industry standard rates? To save save 1-2%? On a million dollar house that's $10,000! Are you kidding? I'm sorry it blows my mind.

I'm not a Realtor, I don't have any Realtors in my family, I wouldn't want to be a Realtor. I'm a businessman, a successful businessman, and I know that when I want something sold I bring in talent and talent doesn't come at a discount.
