Can anyone also comment on whether those areas would be appropriate for me in terms of meeting people, nightlife, parks and recreation, etc?
The most realistic commute without a car is from Princeton.

Lambertville will be tough and Hoboken will be insane.

As stated before - depending where you work in Plainsboro, relying on public transportation is not the best idea in the world.

If nightlife is so important, I would really recommend living in Plainsboro and biking to work and cabbing to Princeton or New Brunswick.

Remember: You're working 5 days a week. Nightlife is 2-3 days a week.

I would prefer new brunswick BUT hoboken is doable if you use the train to princeton jct. Also since you work in plainsboro there is a rush hour shuttle bus other than the 600 fail line that takes you to your worksite from the station click here for details GMTMA.org yeah your ****ed try carpooling from the station

To me this sounds crazy, the idea of living in Hoboken and commuting to Plainsboro for work, especially without a car.

It seems this person really is best in an urban setting and should really consider getting a job in NYC or Philly.

Plainsboro while a really nice town to live in is not for one who is looking for nightlife, an urban lifestyle and has no car.
