All,
Please let me know if you have a parking permit to either New Brunswick or Jersey Ave Train station and don't need it and I will be happy to buy it from you. I have commuted a few times to the city and paying $12 per day at the NB station is really over the roof.

I will be starting a new job in the city soon and am looking for ways to make my commute less $$.

Also any words of wisdom/advise on how to make the commute from Brunswick to Wall St more bearable will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

A few things you could do to make the commute more bearable -
> bring a book or magazine to read on the train
> if you can, take a nap (some people i know can not sleep on the train while surrounded by strangers)
> get used to crowded trains at the earliest possible
> practice patience (will be helpful with rude/loud fellow passangers and NJ transit delays - both happen very often)

i have been commuting on NJ Transit for over 5 years and all the above have helped on numerous occasions.

If you're going to wall st you're probably better off taking a bus at one of the many stops along route 27. Suburban Transit (CoachUSA) has a free park and ride at their rt 27 depot in New Brunswick. Have you looked into that?

Permit Parking at Jersey Ave is $60 a month. However there are a few private lots in the immediate area that that charge $100 a month. Im not sure if Jersey Ave still has a waiting list, it took me 18 months to get mine when i moved to the area back in 2009
