Schools are the upmost important. My kids are in advance classes straight A's and would like to keep them that way. Sports are also important. My son plays football and baseball. We are not nosey neighbors and do not really care for them. We keep to ourselves but like to have a few friends and a get together now and then. My kids enjoy being outdoors, playing, riding bikes. We have a a lab and retriever that like to be with us outside too.
I moved from GA last year and you are in for a price shcok here. You will not buy anything but a shack in NJ for 300K. i am not sure where swedesboro is but if the drive is doable start looking in PA. I actually looked in the Lehigh Valley are and they had nice house for that price range. Good luck to you.

Machelle's search in Morris county is completely different than Swedesboro, which is like exit 2 on the turnpike (south of Philly). You can definitely find some reasonable options in your price range.
Thanks everyone. This is not an easy thing to do, especially since I have never been to NJ or PA. It will be alot different from Georgia but I have already found some houses in that price range, just need to decide on some areas that we think we will like.

Swedesboro probably won't be a much of a shock as you're imagining.
Isn't Swedesboro in the "Pretty Much Alabama" section of NJ?
OP, pay no attention to this post.
Actually we're just over the border in "Farms and Military Bases"...
Drive a few miles south and...yep, pretty much Alabama. We like to think of ourselves as the last bastion of civilization on 295 and the Turnpike, lol.

Yeah, it'll be quite similar- the pineys down there probably have about the same tooth count as the rednecks in North Georgia (I can say that now that I've lived in GA for 4 years.....lol)

lol, Bob. FWIW, if you want to find Piney's you need to look in Burlington, Ocean and Atlantic Counties. Only a small sliver of Gloucester County is in the Pine Barrens.
Just consider me being defensive since I live there, but if you haven't been in the Swedesboro area in the past 10 years or so it is VERY different then what most people imagine it to be. The developments and people there have more in common with Evehsam and Mount Laurel then they do with "Pineys" and "hicks".
