In Franklin Township, which is just to the north of the area under discussion, there are three Stop & Shop stores. However, if you added up the number of customers daily at all 3 S&S stores, it probably would not equal the number of daily shoppers at the one Shop-Rite in Franklin Twp. Shoppers vote with their feet, and after comparing prices, most folks seem to avoid S&S in favor of stores with better prices, which essentially means Shop-Rite and Wegman's. (A & P and Pathmark are just as over-priced as S&S, and there are so few Acme stores and other chains that they are not really a factor).

To illustrate all of these points, a couple of days before Thanksgiving, I was doing my usual shopping in Shop-Rite, but they were sold out of the chicken livers that I needed for T-Day. And, of course, the store was absolutely mobbed a couple of days prior to the holiday.

The next day, I was near the Wegman's in Lawrenceville(?). I battled the incredible mobs in that store, only to find out that they were also sold out of chicken livers.
On my way home, in desperation, I stopped at the Stop & Shop on Rt 27, in the Franklin Park section of Franklin Twp. The first thiing that I noticed was that the store was so devoid of customers that I could have gone bowling in the aisles without hitting anyone!

And, then, in the meat case, I found a display of...perhaps...30 tubs of chicken livers. Yup, Stop & Shop's lack of customers allowed me to find what I needed.
And--yes--I did check the Sell-By date, in order to verify that the livers were fresh.

So, my new policy is to do my last-minute pre-holiday shopping at Stop & Shop.
The relative absence of customers means that they are unlikely to be out-of-stock of whatever you need.
Just be prepared to pay high prices for this convenience!

I'm surprised the banditos is gone...besides Big Fish at Princeton Market Fair that used to be the spot for all the working professionals in the S.B., Princeton, Plainsboro area for after work cocktails and get togethers.

Well, guess you can't make all your profit banking on cocktails and hor d'ervers.

Perhaps because you have the two stop and shops and the A&P right there in fairly close proximity.

I like Stop & Shop, but I like Wegmans, Whole Foods and Shop Rite better.
That Friendlys is gone too lol. I was in that Home Depot in November.

Saltcreek Grill and Ruth's Chris in Plainsboro is not the hot spots for post-business meetings. Big Fish is still kicking strong, but i haven't done any side business there for quite a while.

That's unfortunate. Where's do you got for plain jane icecream these days? I used to go to the Ben & Jerrys in Plainsboro, but that closed. Now the Friendly's closed. I'm looking for spots specifically on Rt 1.

Ive been in that PF changs on for dinner on Friday nights, and its ALWAYS packed.

As for Ice Cream, we typically went to Thomas Sweets in Princeton. However we moved to North Brunswick over the summer, and now go to the Thomas Sweets in New Brunswick.

So there's a typo in my post. Not = Now. It should read:

Sorry.

The mobs who eat at PF Chang's must be oblivious to the taste of food that is highly over-salted. The first time that I ate there, I assumed that the astronomical sodium level was a fluke. However, after the second time, I resolved never to darken the door of Chang's again. And--I am not on a low-sodium diet!

As to Thomas Sweet, I used to patronize that place until I was served Butter Pecan ice cream that was filled with rancid pecans. Those pecans were so rank that I find it hard to believe anyone was unaware of how old they were before they were mixed into the ice cream.

Am I picky?
Perhaps, but I do not suffer fools (or those who serve poor-quality food) gladly, and I have voted with my feet to not step into either of those establishments again.

I haven't eaten at PF Changs for several months... however it was always good food imo. And I dislike salt. Maybe I didn't order the salty dishes.

That entire mall has trouble keeping stores...

Rickel Hardware store- Gone
Channel Hardware store - Gone
Grand Union Supermarket - Gone
Macy's - Gone
Radio Shack - Gone

It can't even keep anchor stores.
Remember Blockbuster?
