Hi there,
New to the forum, and looking for some advice. I am moving to New Jersey in April for my new job, where I will be working as a consultant and visit clients throughout northern and central new jersey.
I am trying to get an idea of apartment cost as well as best areas in new jersey to live.
I am single, so looking for a one bedroom apt, no preferences on location, maybe close to a highway.
Reading other threads is making me believe that Jersey City seems to be somewhat reasonably priced and interesting place to live.
I am fresh out of college, so my income level of the first job is nothing overly exciting, figuring I could afford to spend in the neighborhood of 1000 for an apt.
Could you please give me some feedback, as well as maybe suggestions to help out my apt search.
I love sports, enjoy city living, own a motorcycle (which I'm debating if I'm going to keep), and I will have a company vehicle for driving to visit my clients.
Thanks!
I don't know a whole lot about Jersey City, just know that there are parts to avoid. I'm sure that others on the board can tell you which parts. If you are going to be visiting clients throughout North and Central Jersey, I would say give some of the towns in Union County a look. Union Township is pretty nice and you would have access to the Garden State Parkway and Route 22 and 78 which will also lead you to the Turnpike. Westfield is pretty nice as well. Or you can look into Essex county in towns like Montclair, Verona, West Orange or Bloomfield.

Hmm.. You have given me some research material! Thanks, I will check it out
