Lightbulb Shopping trip

I have a fever, body aches and I am completely congested. But I will drag my weak germ ridden body and lily white puffy face to Wegmens in Manalapan today just to see if this really occurs.
I will hold up a sign that reads "Run Me Over With Your Hummer"

Speed Bumps: You all may hate NJ to your little hearts content, but you're still on the NJ Forum. I'm too sick to banter today besides it's not getting through.

Hey, I've been feeling like that! I'm getting over the flu (I'm in that wonderful final stage, where it feels like you're losing your lungs [constant hacking ], and it feels weird to breathe).

Feel better!

My husband just got over this - knocked on his butt for 6 days (that NEVER happens)..hope you feel better soon!

The "run over by a shopping cart" just kills me (pun intended!) - I have a vision of this poor soul splayed out in the frozen foods aisle with cart tracks across her chest, tongue hanging out of the side of her mouth and "x's" where the eyes ought to be......LOL!!!

(but sad, of course)

Feel Better, but don't attempt to go there. Most will tell you" keep away"
Most of my friends avoid that store because its the most popular in town, and they rather go to the smaller older stores and avoid those pushy types.

You always mention how you hated everyone in NJ and that they're all snobs. How is it that you have so many friends in your town then?

Oh, and I think a lot of the reasons New Jersey, as a state, and New Jerseyans are disliked, are because of the way the media portrays them (take The Sopranos, for example. Don't get me wrong, I love the show, but it portrays a negative image), and most of the people who judge the state poorly, have only been to Newark, JC, Camden, Elizabeth, on the turnpike, etc. Landing at Newark, as another poster stated, does NOT count as being in NJ long enough to judge it. Those who judge the state solely on these areas bad mouth the place to others, and those who haven't been to the state will say "Oh, I had a friend (or whatever) that went to NJ, and said it smelled, and the people were rude." or "It was too crowded." Well, yes, Newark is crowded, it's outside of one of the largest US cities. Yes, Newark smells bad, but go to any large industrial city, and tell me if it smells good. The areas around Newark, don't smell bad (imo), and in fact, some of them smell good, and cleaner than where I currently live.

People stare at me when I state that I want to move to NJ, that I feel like I belong, and absolutely love it there. Then, of course, I get the disgusted face from people, and the questions of "Why?" (insert negativity about NJ). Even though I'm not a native of the state, it irks me horrendously that people are like that. I'm happy there, and that's what matters. That's what's supposed to matter.

I was speaking with someone I know tonight, and it was mentioned that I'm going to NJ in 2 weeks. He gave said reaction (the disgusted face, and asking why). I finally convinced him that there is more to NJ than the major cities/turnpike, in which he then agreed that it's probably not as bad as people think.

I love the state. If I had the option of moving there today, I would. There's no. doubt. about. it. I don't have that option, currently, though, so I settle for just visiting. It's almost like an ache in my heart until I get back.

I'm just rambling now, but the point pretty much is, that people shouldn't judge the state from just knowing what the media portrays/the large cities/turnpike/etc.
