We love seafood and our options in northern Monmouth County are limited. What are some good seafood places to visit? We had a quick lunch today at Mr. Shrimp in Belmar. It's very inexpensive and casual and our food was good.

Freshest fish: Keyport Fishery. It is caught every day and so good but it's takeout only.
Restaurant: McLoone's in Long Branch at Pier Village. Catch of the Day is the way to go.

Mud City is insane!!! It would be a hike down to Manahawkin, but well worth it. They literally have the best crab cakes I have ever tasted.

we go to the black whale on lbi a few times in the summer. its not my favorite, but other members of my family like it.

we went to doris and eds in the atlantic highlands a good amount growing up. more recently we would probably go a few times a year. but i believe it has been out of commission since that last hurricane.

We used to go to Wharfside in Point Pleasant Beach. Always had a good meal.

McCloones...way overpriced in my opinion! steamer appetizer was 16 bucks and no joke had 9 steamers in it, hardly worth it. I remember when their brunch was decent and im no slouch with paying for good food either. The arc in Point Pleasant is my Fav! Great little homey place with great seafood menu, always new stuff on specials menu. Barnacle bills in rumson is great too. Rooneys in long brach on ocean is little pricey but delicious and lovely in summer. Kudos to KEYPORT fishery, simply the best fried scallops on earth...miss living walking distace from there for sure
