My husband and I are moving to Keansburg and I'm very annoyed by the opinions of people. How terrible it is to live there, dangerous...etc. and these people are not even Keansburg. Now I'm very worried that we will not be safe there, someone will break into our house, murder us, rob us..etc.
Well, Keansburg does have issues, as I'm sure you are already aware. Pretending they don't exist won't serve you, but neither will living in a state of paranoia. People live there now and don't get murdered or robbed every day. Just stay grounded in reality. Don't wear a victim attitude and stay out of areas where it looks as though the gangs are active.
I looked in Keansburrg when I was moving to Monmouth County, too. Some of the areas were very quaint and cute and seemed quiet. In the end. I just didn't want to take on the flood risk.
I have met a few people who live in Keansburg and sections of it are very cute and quiet. The main issues, as i understand, are tied in with past corruption and the effect it has had on that area with the public money not going to the town but being siphoned into other places. I hope you are moving to a quieter spot in Keansburg and that you are some distance from the main roads since that seems to correlate with the higher crime rates. I find it interesting that usually I read something like the article posted above about Keansburg, it is always involving people who do not actually live in Keansburg. Very odd.
Gangs in and around the boardwalk if anyone tells you different they are lying. the cops in that town are afraid to do anything about it. or they just dont know what to do about is so they let it go. but it is more by the boardwalk area. closer to rt 36 and the dry side of 36 seems to be ok.
I have always gone to keansburg boardwalk for years and years and always loved it.
So you are basically saying originally you wanted to move there and were offended by people's opinions, but now you are worried because you are starting to wonder if their opinions are actually justified.
Keansburg is a dump. They call it the "armpit" of the Jersey Shore, since it is where most of the white trash out there is concentrated to.
