Ode to Wawa
I'll be honest, one of the reasons I could never leave the state of New Jersey is Wawa. I really can't think of a more perfect convenience store. I'll take Wawa dark roast coffee over Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts anyday, and the hoagies/sizzlis/wraps are cheap, quick, and good! Not to mention you can get it all 24 hours a day. 7 Eleven just doesn't compare in any way, shape, or form. Quick Check tries, but doesn't quite hit the mark. Plus, in the lower half of New Jersey you can't drive 10 miles without seeing a Wawa! Any other Wawa-loving New Jerseyans here?

I don't know if I could work with out Wawa lol.
There is one across the street from my job and it's the perfect place to get everything. It makes emergency coffee or food runs easy. 711 is too gross. There is nothing to eat there besides junk food. They techinically have sandwiches at 711 but they make me sick.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!! Well, when I was a little girl we lived for a year in Sparta and a year in Lake Mohawk and there was a Wawa right on the main drag there somewhere...I don't even remember the name of the street. Anyway, we were constantly there--my sister, my best friend and I. We used to get Slushees or Slurpees (which are they called at Wawa? I don't remember, I just remember we would point and buy) that had Shrinkey Dinks taped to the bottom of the cup. We'd go home and make the Shrinkey Dinks in the oven. For a while I think they also sold Wacky Packs (the precursor to Garbage Pail Kids) and Pop Rocks.
You could get anything quick there and they were friendly, or as friendly as shopkeepers ever were to little kids back in the 70s, and yep, we did think it was "all that". Thanks for this fun post.

I think that's just that store. I hit the one in Margate before we go into hell...er...I mean AC and they sell them there.

Funny, I don't think I've ever been in a Wawa (and I've been in many) that sold lottery tickets. Maybe it's an A.C. thing? I usually frequent the Wawas in Mercer, Burlington, and Ocean.

I agree - Wawa is the BEST convenience store chain! Unfortunately, they don't exist in Northern NJ or in NY state. We have Stewart's everywhere up here, but they don't compare to Wawa. When I have to travel to southern NJ for business, I go to a Wawa daily!
