Times are difficult, for many people.

To the OP, you reassured us that you aren't suicidal, but you said several things that make me think you might be suffering from serious depression. If you have any access at all to mental health care, please take advantage of it so that when things do get better you'll be able to grab the opportunities.

Poster indicated a New Jersey origin.

Moved thread to NJ and perhaps the good posters there can provide some additional insights.

I think one of your priorities should be right now to call social services and get a professional to talk with.

Unfort, your first post was very alarming and shouldn't be ignored.

Do it!

One bit of advice I have for you is to get out and do things that take your mind off your current situation, even if only for a little while. When people (myself included) get into that "funk" they tend to alienate themselves from their friends and family, stay in and make themselves prisoners in their own home, which only makes the situation worse. We all need a break from the stresses of everyday life. I personally like to go to Great Adventure when I'm down in the dumps because while I'm being launched from 0 to 128 mph in under 3 seconds nothing but the adrenaline rushing through my veins exists and I am happy, even if only for the moment. Find something that makes you happy and do it regularly, no matter how much you want to crawl into a hole and never come out.

You'll be OK, it will just take time to get things back in order. Good luck!

Chances are you will land a decent new job within 3-4 months. Job market seems to be much improved lately.

Say you are making 45k. Live like you make 35k for a couple years and pay off your debt.

In other words, I would never say to a homeless person, "Well, be glad you have legs to walk from park bench to park bench." I would say heck yeah you should be pissed and sick and tired of being homeless!

No person's discontentment should be belittled simply because they are not worse off than they are.

I do appreciate your effort to help me see the rays of sunshine. thanks
I agree. Just because you've only got a broken ankle doesn't mean it doesn't hurt because someone else needs a wheelchair.

Listen, good luck. I hope something works out for you. It sounds as if you're the type of person who isn't afraid of working and trying out new things, so look for the next opportunity and take it. I'm hoping one comes your way soon.

Man, you hit the nail on the head with that one. I had been doing just that. I got out this passed weekend with some friends and had fun. I was reminded that I am a fun, lively, person. It felt good. Thanks for the encouragement.
