Haven't they begun restoring the Meadowlands by building MetLife Stadium?
No , they haven't and a strong storm could cause massive flooding in cities and towns upstream. The Meadowlands acts like a buffer and sponge between storm surges or wind driven flooding , the more you build on it which is illegal...the less effective it becomes. This can be seen down the shore , the more you build down on the islands , the less protection the mainland gets...
The Pennsylvania Railroad cut some shady deals and demolished old Penn station....which by many in this region was done illegally...Grand Central almost suffered the same fate....
I woul like to see Newark and the meadowlands work together. Try to have some activities in Newark when the superbowl comes to jersey.
