Help needed !! Accommodation near Paramus,NJ (Wayne, Fort Lee: sublets, apartments, to rent)

Hi,
I'm a graduate student from NC state. I will be in New Jersey for my summer internship starting from May 14th till August 14th. My office is located at Paramus,NJ. Hence I'm looking for a temporary accommodation in the nearby areas during that period, which will be easy accessible from Paramus. Could some one suggest me the best place to get a temporary accommodation such as a Paying guest or Sublet in the near by areas. Also suggest a few site that would have this information. All my mails to posts in craigslist and other websites that had ads for accommodation never got a reply.

Residence Inn may be a good option; they have one in Saddle River and one in East Rutherford, both within 10-15 min. car rides from Paramus. Also, Mountainview Crossing in Wayne (about 20-25 mins from Paramus) may have some apartments.

Actually I am looking at options that would cost me around 500-700$ per month, Since I'm planning to stay for 3 months I couldn't afford Residence Inn as it appears to be quite costly for my budget. I would prefer housing that has a sharing basis or as a Paying guest or a sublet. I believe that Paramus is a Mall areas that has a high cost of living compared to its nearby places such as FortLee, Englewood or Ridgewood.

Craigslist is the usual way things like this are done......there are almost certainly other websites out there though, I just don't know of them and obviously none of them are as big.

Also, Paramus is at the intersection of all of the area's major highways and as long as you avoid southwest Englewood everywhere in Bergen county is a perfectly safe (albeit mostly boring) place to live while doing an internship within 30 minutes of Paramus....I guess what I'm saying is at your budget focus on finding someone who would be willing to rent a spare room to an intern is the critical thing and you neither need to nor have the ability to be picky about the town. Heck you can even leave the county and as long as you plan out the commute and do some basic research on the area you'll be fine.

edit: Paramus does have a high cost of living, but, then again, so does Fort Lee, Ridgewood and large swathes of Englewood....it's not a cheap area.

I would look into Fair Lawn. Its on the border of paramus, much cheaper and has plenty of apartments that are now vacant. I know that Exclusive Properties is a well known broker in the area and I think Remax and Weichert have branches in town. you might call them to ask about apartments/sublets etc..They would probably give you some leads for free

Hawthorne, NJ. It is a nice town close to Paramus, but affordable and safe.

Have you checked with the company giving the internship? Many companies have some info from past interns that could be helpful.

Nope, I already checked with them and they don't offer accommodation for interns.

I suggest that instead of LOOKING for a place on Craigslist, you place your own advertisement stating that you are a student who will be in Paramus on an internship and who is looking for a room to rent. Give the dates and the amount of money you are willing to pay.

I bet you will get responses. Sometimes people do apartment shares wherein several people are all paying a portion of an apartment rent. If one person moves out, the others have to pick up the slack until they fill the room. You might find someone in that position who will be happy to have one of the rooms filled for the summer.

Check out the local college summer dorm housing or check with their off campus housing offices, Farleigh Dickinson and Ramapo are near Paramus.
