ndecost is on a distinguished road
I live in Glen Ridge. Its a beautiful town with a great school system (top notch in the state) and adorable gas lanterns that give the town its charm. I would not say its a very Jewish town though, although I would hope this wouldn't cause you to look away.

If you are looking for a higher Jewish population, then I agree that Millburn and Livingston are probably better choices. Glen Ridge is a great small town though with great people. The homes are beautiful here too. A lot of Victorians and older homes with tons of character.

Good luck!

Default Wondering same thing

We are looking in Glen Ridge as well and wondering whether there is a Jewish Community, even a small one. Montclair has two synagogues, we figure we can go there for services if we wanted to. Not looking for a community that is overwhelmingly any religion - such as Livingston or Fair Lawn. Like diversity and want to feel welcome. Any opinions on Glen Ridge? It's a very cute town!

northeast bergen has plenty of jewish people all over

and it is quite compact in NENJ

So if you move to any town in NENJ, you will be very close to lots of jewish people

Even if the town does not have a synagogue, there will be on in the next town over, and it will probably be very close

Try these links:
REFORMED TEMPLES IN NJ
Union for Reform Judaism - Directory of Congregations

SYNAGOGUES IN NJ
Synagogues in New Jersey - Shuls in New Jersey - Jewish Temples in New Jersey

Call the temples and ask them for information. Keep in mind that many temple members live in towns other than the actual location of the temple.

I am not passing the buck here. As a Realtor, I am not allowed to discuss what a "Jewish town" is. Doing so is steering, where you tell one group to live here and another to live there. HIGHLY ILLEGAL, but I can give you sources who can answer questions for you.
