Default what is happening to jersey city

can anyone fill me in on why there is a huge population of yuppies here? i just recently moved back here and it sure as hell is not how i remmeberd it. and are they really that nieve? ive seen them jogging or riding bikes down questionable areas with a smile on there face like there is no chance of something bad happening to them. call me afraid of change but it blows my mind that these people just invade a city and spead like a plague with there smug attitudes.

Give me yuppies over car-jacking thugs any day of the week.

yea i understand that, but it used to be a city with many different cultures and so diverse. now all the middle class are being driven out of there houses to make room for these obnoxious yuppies. just because i dont like the yuppies dosnt mean id rather have thugs, theres much more than that too JC

It's called gentrification. NYC and Hoboken is taking over Jersey City. More and more joggers, walking Banana Republic ads, and cafe latte mocha choka on it drinkers.......aka yuppies. They're moving in while they can get affordable places in JC's "up and coming" areas. If bugged me out too when I saw an "all american girl" jogging with her IPOD by Crown Fried Chicken......if you're from JC, you already know that's a no-no. BUT....those brownstones are great investments.

Come to think of it, I'ma yuppie now. Though I'm born and raised in the Greenville section. But I still like my coffee from "papi" at the bodega with a butter roll both for a dollar

i undeerstand this area is going through changes, i guess im just alittle anoyed by it. Im originally from JC then moved to place with these "yuppies" and hipsters and became quite sick of them. Then when i came back here i figured those types of morons would be the last people i came across. Oh and if JC turns into hoboken with frat by idiots running around its time to move far far away

Default This is nothing new

It was going on back in 1987. It tends to peak and then subside I guess but it makes me laugh to hear people say that all those different peoples are gone from there. So untrue. Maybe you are thinking of Johnson City.
