What is the status of the Elizabeth to NYC Ferry (real estate, work)

I'm interested in learning the status of the supposed Elizabeth To NYC ferry project which was supposed to be completed this Year 2007. I live in the port section of the city(1st ward) & have heard nothing on this matter in the last year. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated.

for what I hear they stopped working b/c they had some permits issues in the NYC Pier, but that was clear and rumors have it that it should start again and new target time frame is mid to late 2008..

update:
I recently heard that the Elizabeth Ferry should be completed in 2009.. i believe it was posted on the NY TIMES..

I was also chatting with a friend who is into real estate and has good inside information.. he said that the Ferry was ready to commence construction as IKEA sold the RexPlex in ELizabeth.. that area will be part of the new Ferry..

I havent heard of Rexplex being sold but the Elizabeth Ferry has been "in progress" for almost 8 years now. Its getting closer and closer to a reality but I'll beleive it when I see it.
