Tenafly cops investigating increase in home burglaries - NorthJersey.com

We were strongly considering purchasing in Tenafly as 1 of our children has some special needs and goes to a school we really like in Tenafly. Our other kids do not need to be in Tenafly but it is not easy having them in schools in different towns and coordinating pick ups (especially long term). now though as much as we wanted Tenafly we are a little nervious. any comments

Home burglaries are increasing in practically every affluent area. It is a byproduct of the poor economy and lack of jobs, and there isn't really anywhere you can move where that isn't the case. Be vigilant about locking doors and windows and take standard precautions. This isn't something you should avoid Tenafly over.

the chance of a family really experiences "home burglaries" probably similar to winning a lottery in these towns, so it's not really a concern. Just make sure you get home security and don't leave any valuables in the house.
