the most powerful players against legalization are the criminal justice group. police, corrections officers, lawyers, judges & their supporting staff and their unions/trade organizations are the ones lines up to oppose legalization efforts. its a matter of money, not what's "right."

Read my post again - I support legalization. I am worried about decriminalization.

Decriminalization means possession is still illegal but only punishable by a fine. Distribution would still be a serious crime. This means we retain the entire black market of illegal distribution but now with more demand.

I see that I missed that you were saying that tax paying businesses working with police was a good thing. I thought you were suggesting it was a bad thing. a lot of people I interact with would see working with police as a negative.

im not really sure what the best way is to regulate drug use. alcohol is legal but there are age and other restrictions. you also have dwi issues. but I am 100% sure that users shouldn't be put in prison.
