It looks like there may be sports betting for added state revenue as early as the fall football season if Chris Christie gets his way against the feds. BTW, where does all that NJ state lottery money go?New Jersey Will Legalize Sports Betting, Federal Ban Be Damned -- The Sports Section

so looks like Christie's lawyer friends are going to make out on this one once the Feds take us to court. How much have we paid his friends for the ARC tunnel debacle?

The NFL is absolutely going to fight this. There have been rumors that if they aren't successful they could potentially put the SB being at Giants stadium in question. Very interesting.

I never even knew sports betting was illegal in your country. We've had sports lotteries (which work like any lottery ticket you buy at the convenience store) for 20+ years in Canada. In fact, Ontario and British Columbia had to drop the NBA from their lotteries as a condition for the NBA to expand to Toronto and Vancouver in the 1990s, because David Stern doesn't like betting. You can still bet on pretty much every other sport though, even European soccer.

Anything the nanny state dislikes is illegal in this country.
