I'm job hunting right now, and there's a potential job for me in Fort Lee, NJ. One of my priorities is to live some place where I can conveniently go out and enjoy the nightlife (which isn't the case currently, and is the main reason I'm looking at jobs). Another priority is to not have a horrible commute, I'd say 30 minutes each way max. I don't mind driving, nor do I mind taking public transportation as far as the commute goes.
So if I were to work in Fort Lee, I would want to be able to go out in Manhattan. My question is, where could I live so that I could have a reasonable commute to work, but could also go out on the weekends conveniently. Is it even doable?

Thanks!

Weehawken, Edgewater, West New York, Hoboken, Union City.
You could also live in Fort Lee and be in the city in about 5 mins through GWB or 30-40 mins through Lincoln Tunnel

take the spanish busses (very cheap/convenient) from fort lee to gwb bus terminal, and then can take the A train down to midtown.

Weehawken is a great option if it fits your budget. It is a pretty sleepy town for its density, but you border Hoboken for nightlife and have very quick access to Midtown Manhattan by bus, ferry, and light rail to PATH. It is a 15 minute drive to Fort Lee. You could take the 156/158/159 (if I'm remembering correctly) NJ Transit busses inbound to NYC or outbound to Fort lee from Weehawken.

Fort Lee isn't horribly convenient to Manhattan either, as mentioned above.
