I like Boonton better than Lincon Park because of the downtown. The Park section is the best part of Boonton, with some wonderful old homes. With that said, the schools are not very good in Boonton at all. In fact I think you would be hard pressed to find someone who lives in the Park section that doesn't send their kids to private school. Especially the high school (Lincoln Park kids go there too). I wonder why you are only looking at those two towns. I think you would be better off in Boonton Township, Denville or Parsippany than Boonton or Lincon Park.
Boonton and Boonton Township are totally different towns. Boonton Township has wonderful schools and the kids go to Mountain Lakes High School. This would be a far far better choice than Boonton. What is your budget for rent / buy? Last edited by UKOK; 01-04-2008 at 08:07 AM. |

May I say that I have lived in Lincoln Park for nearly 20 years. My home has never flooded. It is NOT a HUGE FLOOD AREA. Yes, there are areas that flood but MOST of the town is above water. May I remind the naysayer that the only time Lincoln Park is on the news regarding flooding is when there has been SEVERE weather putting MANY towns into flood situations. Getting back to business, Lincoln Park is a great town to raise kids, lots of flat land to ride bikes, walk, friendly people, etc... Come visit and see for yourself what a wonderful town Lincoln Park is.

I lived in Lincoln Park and there is alot of home NOT in the flood zones...... The comley development rte 202 section not to mention the really nicer homes off Comly Rd. Lincoln Park was also just voted Friendliest town in NJ. ALthough I am unsure of Boonton, I have to say Lincoln Park is a really nice town as long as you stay out of the flood.

I have to agree with others, I live in Pequannock, but Lincoln Park is a lovely town, and most of it doesn't flood (even a lot of the homes in the comly developments that need flood insurance have not flooded in 30 yrs). Developments are really nice with large propertys and tree lined streets (park like settings). They only drawback of Lincoln park is that they don't have their own HS so the kids go to Boonton (which is not a good school). Home prices reflect this and you can get a lot for your money in Lincoln park compared to some of the neighboring towns. I would definately check it out, but also check out pequannock, Pompton Plains (my favorite), and Parsippany.
