Foxtons closing shop
I do feel sorry for Foxtons realtors and I'm sorry if that's you but besides that I'm so happy
I listed my home with them and it was a horrible experience. I read on another post "you get what you pay for" and that's so true.
Now I wonder what they plan to do with all the houses listed, I'm one so it will be interesting what happens. I would think at this stage they would have no choice but to let customers go with an unconditional release?
Comments are appreciated
Thanks

wow! do you have a link? i couldn't find anything googling, on the foxtons site, or on nj.com.
their business plan obviously did not include contingencies when the market went south. did they think the housing increases were going to continue at the same rate?

By Friday they are history ...
Sorry, I don't have a link. I had heard it thru the grapevine earlier today that they closed shop in NY and that NJ was next. I also checked on line and couldn't find anything. Then later this evening I heard it from the "horses mouth" my Foxtons realtor called to say they received an e-mail today saying they were closing shop on Friday. She said she was told not to call clients but she said she felt she had to call and give her clients a heads up!! My house was on the market for months and I couldnt get you to call me back and now Foxtons is closing shop and you feel you "had to call"
I'm sure it will be on the net tomorrow.

Well look at it this way, legally you arent going to be bound to them anymore, just do your due dilligence on finding a good proffessional to re-List your home..
Good Luck..and I must say I never showed thier listings but 1x and he tried to take my clients away..bad business...thanks for the Info I will pass it along to my Sister as well as another friend...

The Asbury Park Press is reporting that 90 percent of their employees will be laid off (350 out of 380) but their 4400 listings will remain on the market. The press also reports that they are contemplating bankruptsy. While I have not had any dealings with them when it comes to real estate I can make one observation. They have their share of very bad / agressive drivers. I've noticed on numerous occasions their cars (Mini-Coopers) being operated in a very aggressive manner on the highways. Maybe they were just racing to sell their next home .

Wow--this isn't that surprising because, based on our realtor's reaction to any mention of Foxtons, I've gotten the impression they're like the Voldemort of realtors.

Do you think there will be lots of second hand Mini Coopers out on the market soon?
