We just bought a summer condo in Brigantine NJ. It needs some work a couple of new kitchen cabinets stove & fridge. Also looking for some new furniture. Any suggestion for some inexpensive shoping? Refurbished appliances etc.
You're probably going to have to head out to the Egg Harbor Twp area/Pleasantville area for reasonable new furniture, as well as kitchen cabinets (I would try Home Depot or Lowes for cabinets but there is also a place called Just Cabinets in the Consumer Square shopping center in Mays Landing ). Most furniture stores in the shore towns themselves are expensive. I just bought new bedroom furniture at Ashley in EHT, and they currently have a 5 year financing/no interest deal going.
Used appliances are a bit tougher in the shore towns, and I would check in the Pleasantville area which is probably the closest that will have used stuff. I don't know if you have access to a pickup truck, but if there is nothing in P-ville area there are used furniture stores in Vineland and also a Sears Outlet in Deptford. I bought a fridge there once, which was brand new except for one little ding, came with the full warranty and was hundreds less.
You can also check yard sales, or if the appliances can wait until after the summer, wait till September when the demolition sales start and the entire contents of houses are sold before being knocked down. You could also get cabinets and things like that at them. When my ex and I bought a condo here in OC, we chose to paint the cabinets and put on new hardware, and they looked brand new. Good luck!
