The Mendham people became jerks (sorry to say) and fit right in. I know Iam generalizing but that is what I know about those towns.
spring lake??
that's the cliquiest of towns!, lot's of new money jerks colliding with the old townies rich because their homes have skyrocketed, it's a very hard place to fit in

You sound like good people. Maybe you'll appreciate this (maybe not)...when my husband and I moved out of NY, the night before we left we hung out on the stoop of our (rented) house with 6 of our closest friends. We bought (don't get grossed out) about $80 worth of White Castle and drank beer with it. It was a fun farewell!

Thank God we didn't get sick the next day in the Ryder truck!
OMG!!! What a party

I remember when most of Hoboken was the pits. My father was born and raised in a 4 story tenament or flat with railroad rooms and cockroaches. Now its known as a brownstone worth probably over a million. And yes when it rains the sewage is all over that town. I now live down south by the beach and here people say and start a conversation like" I'm from Bay Head what town do you live in. Who freekin cares but hey thats Jersey. Gotta love it.

I second Haddonfield, and add Tavistock, and The Medfords... Eastside of Cherry Hill/Voorhees area as well. Yeah, southerner here too.
