Warren County doesn't seem to get much attention on these forums, but can anyone tell me about White Township? I found what looks to be a very attractive building lot up that way and I'm planning to look at it on Monday. I've traveled around Sussex and Hunterdon quite a bit, but I haven't had much experience with Warren in general. I did by my truck from Smith Ford in Washington though, really nice people there.

As far as the composition of working class/professional folks, is it about the same as Sussex? It's definitely not as pricey as Hunterdon from what I can tell. Do alot of people commute to Newark/New York from Warren County? How is the commute on Route 31 to points south?

Finally, I know someone will bring it up so I'll just put it to rest right now...Yes, I've seen the infamous Oxford picture

I have a friend in White twp. and he loves it. Very low taxes for what he has compared to other nearby towns. He did mention to me not long ago that as soon as White gets 25 more residents they will have to form their own police dept.Right now the State police provide coverage but that will end soon. After that It will road dept, new schools, garbage collection and a municipal bldg. etc, etc.

A lot of people are hopping right over Warren County into Monroe and Pike Counties in Pennsylvania, so apparently it is the "best kept secret" of NJ if even its own residents forgot about it!

One item you need to research is the proximity and wind direction from the landfill to your property. there have been several articles regarding complaints from White Township residents about the smell coming from the landfill.

I have heard that-I'll have to ask the neighbors what they think. It surprises me though because EPA/DEP standards are much stricter than they used to be. When my parents moved to Hamilton close to 30 years ago they used to get a whiff or two of the Bordentown landfill, but now it's been totally re-vamped at the behest of state and federal officials. You wouldn't even know there was a landfill there now.

White Twp. is very nice. I live right near there. The taxes are probably some of the lowest in Warren County. It is very scenic and rural.

Just looking at a old post but maybe someone can tell me if there is shopping around this area? How rural is it, black bear territory? Are the schools and academics up to Nj standards?
