Reaction of Mayor Bloomberg toward the Colorado Shooting:

Just saw on Channel 7, Eyewitness News of NYC, how Gov. Christie of NJ, is so adamant toward the NY Mayor for asking the President and Mr. Roomney to do something about the amount of guns and semi-automatic weapons available across the country.

Could it be that Gov. Christie is for the National Rifle Association, and does not want any bans on his beloved toys?..........just wondering!!!!!!

No, Romney's kissing the butt of the NRA and Christie isn't about to **** off his master. Christie is FAR from a gun supporter.

I'm not sure what tougher gun control laws would matter- do you think criminals follow laws ?? You can get almost anything off the internet, and down south ... Go to Texas and Florida, and almost everyone is carrying. My friend has a case full of Glocks. And, 1 is always loaded.

Guns aren't so hard to get ... You just have to know the right people, and connections. And, if criminals couldn't get guns, there are other sources of weapons - pipe bombs ... Some young girl was arrested recently in my town for having homemade pipe bombs in her garage - what did her parents think they were, a science project ??

Gun control is a big joke, and an issue being added to every politicians agenda right now to gain popular votes.

Personally, if people are going to get weapons to defend themselves, they better make sure they know how to use them ... Join a gun club, and focus on obtaining good target practice. You would hate to miss should you ever have to load and release on someone ... And, in a panicky situation, you don't think so clearly ... I've heard numerous people say if they were carrying in that theater that guy would have been dead ... RIIIIIGHT. Everyone wants to be a hero. Idiots.

IMO Bloomberg is right. Let's talk about it until something as common sensical as the assault weapons ban is brought back.

Bloomberg (and Booker to a lesser extent) sees the results of our sick gun culture of death in the city almost daily. A 4 yr. old hit in the head by some 17 yr. old knucklehead in the Bronx just a few days ago. Cops have been shot 9 times in the past 6 months. Criminals go down south and get a straw purchaser to buy a bunch of guns for them and bring them back to NY to do their crimes. So technically these are "legal" gun purchases.

Bloomberg is a fool. He is violating the law by encouraging officers to strike. Now the Donkey Bloomberg is trying to walk-back his statements. I am convinced that we only have morons in elected office...

Quote:
You may be familiar with the Taylor Law for its prohibition on strikes by public employees, such as teachers, transit workers, and, yes, police officers. But the law also declares that "no public employee or employee organization shall cause, instigate, encourage, or condone a strike." Bloomberg is a public employee, no? And he appears to be encouraging a strike? Not that we expect Bloomberg to be brought up on charges or anything, but still, he's the mayor! He's not supposed to be violating the law.

Christie is far from a gun rights enthusiast, but like most moderate Republicans, he is trapped in the NRA model. Christie received funding from the NRA for his campaign against Corzine and for obvious reason, he was a better choice then Corzine on the issue of gun rights from the NRA's perspective. Even then Christie is hardly their golden boy as he has supported the existing NJ gun laws which are among the strictest in the country. Christie is not graded by the NRA as far as I know because he refused to submit the questionaire. If he had most feel he would have gotten a "D" or "F" grade simply by supporting NJ's existing laws. Even then if he has national political aspirations, he cannot come out in favor of more restrictive legislation as it is a sure-fire way to lose a national primary on the Republican ticket.

Bllomberg needs to find something new to protect NY'ers from themselves. He loves doing it and they seem to love him for it.

Stay in NY. Michael.

I call him the Emperor. He loved running for a third term...Emperor Bloomberg...now he wants to tell everyone what to eat and imbibe. He's smarter than everyone else so all NY'ers should be required to follow his command. The Emperor has spoken.

Time to go to NYC to a restaurant and smoke a cigarette, drink a large soda and pack some heat. King Bloomberg will be upset.
