I was wondering if anyone knew how much damage occured in Monmouth Beach NJ from Sandy? Specifically the Channel Club Tower, and Channel Club restaurant??
Any idea on what the impact will be on insurance rates for those living in highrises in Monmouth Beach??

A lot of damage. My in-laws house was almost completely destroyed. The beach clubs and houses along Ocean Ave were devastated. I'm sure other parts of the town were hit just as bad with water and wind damage. Not sure about the Channel Club building itself good portions of the town looks like NOLA after Katrina.

I am "friends" with the Channel Club on facebook, as we had our wedding there in August, 2010.
Seems they had a ton of damage... there was even a rumor that some boats went through their downstairs window and ended up in their cocktail hour room. They haven't confirmed that, but did say they expect to be closed until at least march for renovations.
Great place though, can't say enough nice things about Fred & Liz... really wish them the best.
Here are some pics from their facebook page:

This video shows some pretty shocking damage. Not sure if it's specifically the Channel Club maybe it's a smaller beach club? But if this happened to one, you know it happened to the other.
