How is this area of Newark (renting, best place, areas)

I'm thinking of renting a place in Newark. I don't know much about the place. I know there are good and BAD area of Newark.

South Broad area...from what I've read, the South & West wards are not the greatest. Where is Nexis?

Not a big fan of that area at all.

Having grown up in Newark I can def say don't go there for free! This is a heavily populated drug & prostitution area. Please don't go there. I'm really not kidding. Newark is not the best place but there are surely better areas then Sherman ave. If you can't find something down neck or Forest hill section then Ivy hill may work. Note I said Ivy hill, not Vailsburg. 2 totally different areas.

Couldnt have said it better myself. Lots of prostitution right in the middle of the day. Not worth it.
