I was fine for my first week as I was in Americana land or whatever it was called, with deer and bunnies...then the zebra truck picked me up one day and they put me at the gate where the ostriches are. The guy warned me that if one starts walking towards me on his knees, it means he's going to kick me, and if he kicks me in the head or chest it could kill me. Then they gave me a long pole with a "U" shaped end, which I was supposed to press against their necks to hold them back (yeah, a 16 year old 100 pound girl is going to hold back a 500 pound ostrich). Then they drove off and left me there.

I spent 3 days scared out if my wits, trying to look and sound scary and intimidating to a bunch of ostriches who were not fooled one bit, and wouldn't listen to me at all. I spent large parts of the day hiding in my little hut and letting them go where they wanted, before I decided being terrified on a daily basis wasn't worth $3.15 an hour (a dime more then the other park workers, to make up for the risk) and quit.

cool story.

Okay, I heard the scoop on the radio yesterday. They will take visitors through the safari in open-air off-road vehicles, and best part is the safari will be included in general park admission rather than a separate fee!

Something's up... they are closing 9/30 ~ a month earlier than usual... no Fright Fest this year? Seems like a lot of income to forego for no good reason....

I have witnessed family members getting licked by a giraffe at six flags. I'm also pretty sure we lost at least one antenna. Good times.

Surprising they would do that. Figure this is going to cost them some $$$.
