I like the idea of living on a lakefront. But NJ has SO many lakes! And i know some of them are not good. Anyone know the best lakes? And maybe not the best best but good lakes? I'm looking for a non-motorboat lake up to an hour from the city.

Thanks!

I know Farrington Lake, which is situated between the Brunswicks, does not allow motorboats. Very close to major highways, including the Turnpike. And the North Brunswick side of it at least is not flood prone, as the people in that development were not flooded out during Irene.

Lakes in New Jersey

never heard of a 'bad lake' and wouldn't know what it would meant if one was mentioned

fortunately, no houses on the best lakes and that's the way it should be
