Would taking the NJ Transit from Metuchen and then getting off at Newark to take the Path Train be cheaper and more time effective?
I also hate the long delays on the NJ Transit! Perhaps taking the Path Train would lessen this problem.
Thanks!

How is Newark Penn the same fare zone as New York? I have a monthly ticket to Newark. When I have to go into New York Penn Station, I pay the conductor an extra $4 on the train (it's $5 if you buy it from a ticket machine for some reason.)
Yes, OP, that would likely be cheaper and shorter, especially given the almost-daily delays into NY Penn. It's 20 minutes from Penn to WTC PATH, and then your walk.
