Hello,

Last summer when I interned on Wall Street, I commuted to my workplace from Metuchen Train Station to NY Penn using the NJ Transit. Then, I took the #2 subway train downtown to Wall Street Station. This commute would take approximately 1 hour or 1 hour and 10 minutes. I am looking to shorten my commute currently from Metuchen. Would taking the NJ Transit from Metuchen and then getting off at Newark to take the Path Train be cheaper and more time effective?

I also hate the long delays on the NJ Transit! Perhaps taking the Path Train would lessen this problem.

Thanks!

Its the same fare zone as New York , However you save 15 minutes by going via the PATH then the 2 Train...you do have to walk 6 blocks...

How is Newark Penn the same fare zone as New York? I have a monthly ticket to Newark. When I have to go into New York Penn Station, I pay the conductor an extra $4 on the train (it's $5 if you buy it from a ticket machine for some reason.)

Yes, OP, that would likely be cheaper and shorter, especially given the almost-daily delays into NY Penn. It's 20 minutes from Penn to WTC PATH, and then your walk.
