Just ran through there Saturday night coming back from the Newark Knights clubhouse. LOVE the deep rumble of the exhaust on the empty streets bouncing off all the buildings!

I'd be scarred to walk there and I'm a well built guy.

Nice pictures. I'm liking all the construction going on. Newark is definitely on the upswing.

You might already be scarred, but why on earth would you be scared to walk there? Never left east podunk?

Sheesh.

Thanks for the pics, Nexis - it was a trip down memory lane. Hahnes, Bamburger's, Kresge's buildings, the offices where I worked - Prudential, 60 Park Place then further down by City Hall. Halsey St (was a jewelry craft store there).

This kind of belief is based on misinformation, to put it lightly.

At least during the day, I have seen petite women walking around the center of Newark.

So to think that you, as a well built guy, can't walk there is just wrong.

In downtown Newark during the daytime? ROTFL. Wherever you're picking up your cheap labor for your flips is almost certainly more dangerous.

this is one of the reasons why newark will never change. you have ignorant people basically judging a place they never been to. you just need to know where to go and when to go. if you go around looking like you don't belong there, then of course, you're going to make yourself a target.

but with that said, op, why are you going down to newark? there's nothing there to begin with. it's helluva boring.
