Wow. This thread originally ran before I started reading this forum. How did no one mention the absolut best burger made in the state of NJ?
Go to New Brunswick. Stage Left. (It's been one of NJs best restaurants for a number of years.) At the bar, and I believe for lunch, which is only available on Fridays for part of the year, you can order a burger. It's a ridiculously large, fantastically tastey burger. The standard there is to have it with vermont cheddar & applewood smoked bacon. They serve it with some of the biggest & best steak fries I've had. That and a beer might qualify as the best $20 I've ever spent on lunch.

Cheeburger Cheeburger just opened here (Manalapan) and we gave it a try. Like Jules said in Pulp Fiction, "It's a tasy burger". Had one of their $4.55 shakes as well and it was real good. The wait was long however.
