Default Need suggestions - bar/restaurants

In Nov., I'll be in NJ for a visit and want to get some friends together maybe for some dinner & music afterwards. Can someone suggest a place centrally located maybe between Woodbridge & Hazlet? I'd like dinner & music in the same place, if possible.

There's a place on Route 34 in Old Bridge we go to a lot, the Pine Tavern, that has both live music on weekends and GREAT food. It'd be a super-quick drive from Hazlet and 20 min. or so from Woodbridge.

It isn't expensive and the specials are outstanding. We go to two restaurants regularly in Jersey--this one (our mid-price) and Nicholas (our pricey).

There used to be a place in Matawan called th Poets Inn that had pretty good food, and had live music on some nights. They also had karaoke on Friday nights, which I know sounds cheesy, but they had some regulars who came in and were really awesome- it wasn't your typical "lets get hammered and bungle up a bunch of songs" kind of karaoke.

Bob

Thanks Bob and I do know the Poets Inn but haven't been there in years. I'll put that on the list to check out, thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion and the place looks great but we're looking for a casual place and no nightclubs.
