Just don't use Empire, I checked on them on a consumer website and there were hundreds of "bait and switch" complaints. You order, and when they get to your home they tell you they are out of what you ordered but have something comparable. The complaints said it was a much lower quality than what was ordered. ALL the complaints said the same thing.

We had a very good experience so far with Smart Carpet. So far, because we only had two bedrooms of carpet installed.. We also purchased hardwood for the majority of the house, new tile for the kitchen and two bathrooms. We are not quite ready for that to be installed yet as we have wall repair and painting going on.

Just an FYI: You can negotiate. The guy came in measured and gave us an estimate between $9,600-$13,000 for the entire pkg. We told them our budget was $8500 for everything and the salesman made it work.

Look, I really don't care how he made it work, it worked...capiche?

Empire & Smart Carpets are both high pressure scum that cost almost twice as much than Worldwide. And the Empire ad that claims 60% off? They are full of it, if their already discounted (ha!) quote can be reduced by 20% "with a phone call", who in their right mind would EVER had purchased anything from them at 60% higher? There are laws against false advertising, unfortunately nobody enforces them.

76,000 customers in 3 years? Another joke...
