What about Famous Diners like Brownstone Diner & Pancake House in Jersey City , the Pancakes are better then Ihop or Tops Diner in East Newark the Deserts are to die for along with the Sandwiches....only problem is there are no reservations...and on weekends lines and waits are out the door....parking is also limited....but the food worth it...
Go to the Ironbound for Portuguese food , there are 6 different places to choose from which are really good...
I'm not crazy about Cuban Pete's either. The food is just ok, and the staff is rude.
Root's Steak house in Morristown is great. (There is one in summit too.)
In Montclair, Halcyon is very good. Or if you want really amazing sea food, try Fin.
