Just wondering?

Or do you have any other good suggestions?

In Northern NJ of course.

There is no comparison between Capital Grill and Cuban Pete's. Cuban Pete's is awful.

What?! I like Cuban Pete's!

I've been there before so that is why I considered it. And I've never been to CG before and that is why I considered it also.

Do you want chain restaurant or local?
Do you like middle eastern places?

Bistro 18, also in Montclair. (BYO)

If you both like steak and don't mind a chain, Mortons (Hackensack).

Cuban Pete's doesn't take reservations. I once waited over an hour for a table there for a friend's birthday. Never again.

If you're near Ramsey, both Varka (Greek/Medi) and Cafe Panache (New American-ish) are favorites of ours.

What about Famous Diners like Brownstone Diner & Pancake House in Jersey City , the Pancakes are better then Ihop or Tops Diner in East Newark the Deserts are to die for along with the Sandwiches....only problem is there are no reservations...and on weekends lines and waits are out the door....parking is also limited....but the food worth it...

Go to the Ironbound for Portuguese food , there are 6 different places to choose from which are really good...

I'm not crazy about Cuban Pete's either. The food is just ok, and the staff is rude.

Root's Steak house in Morristown is great. (There is one in summit too.)

In Montclair, Halcyon is very good. Or if you want really amazing sea food, try Fin.
