Definately PHL to CLT if you fly on USAirways. They have hubs in both Charlotte and Philadelphia, hence many more direct flights. In a situation where one particular flight may be cancelled, you have a better chance of reaching your destination because there most likely will be another flight soon.

if southwest flys out of charlotte try them, you can usually get better fares with them.

Definitely recommend PHL to CLT..on USAir.

However..be warned, PHL is awful. You need to get there early, as their security line is a huge bottleneck. Worse I have ever seen.

Delta. Only direct is from Boston however. You can check connections however. If you can use it, it is a great timesaver.
