Just curious to see what you guys think about this

'No Red Tape'? New Jersey Turns Away Non-union Relief Crews

Is it any coincidence that this happens right on the heels of the governor's endorsement of the President? Christie must not think it's so bad out there if he thinks he's in a position to be turning down relief workers. And it comes right after the President's promise that "We are not going to tolerate red tape, we are not going to tolerate bureaucracy." What do you think?

Stupid, stupid, stupid. Down in the south, most workers are non-union. It doesn't mean they aren't just as competent.

yeah - this is garbage. the two guys who worked on my kitchen recently left the union, and they are working on disaster relief.

add this to the list of rumors.

The part about the endorsement was my mistake. I was thinking of Bloomberg. Christie, in fact, has not endorsed Obama. My bad.

But I still haven't seen any proof that this is false. I've had a ton of people tell me it is, but haven't seen anything that debunks it. Where's this proof?

And have you also seen anything that proves it other than a single post from a radio station in Alabama?

Tons of people say things all the time, does that make it true?

The story is false. Non-union utility crews from out of state can work in N.J., power companies say | NJ.com

Looks like everyone, the NJ utilities AND the Alabama ones who sent crews agrees this is BS.

where's the proof it's true? why should anyone have to offer proof that a rumor is false? fact is, people on this board have told you they know people personally who are non union and are working.

or...read the star ledger article about it, with actual quotes from the companies running things.
