I recall that method being used in 1978. My father knew a gas station owner who let my father jump to the top of the long line on the wrong day.

I got up at 4 a.m. to sit on a gas line back in the 70's. Remember the flags outside gas stations?--green if they had unlimited gas, yellow if they had gas but there was a limit to what you could buy, red if they had no gas.

Yes, just imagine being at the end of the line, waiting for hours, when the gas station announces that it ran out of gas.

Can anyone direct me to a county map of NJ. A link to such a map will be helpful for the adjusters and other workers coming into the area who amy not be aware of the county locations. Thanks.

If you don't know the area and can't even figure out how to do a Google search, then please stay away. You aren't going to be of any assistance.

Hi There,

If anyone have answers, please chime in. My husband and I are in New Jersey every other weekend to pick up his sons for the weekend and we are from New York. Our concern is what do we do if we need gas being the odd/even number rationings are in place being that we are coming from New York. Thank you for your time and response.

doesn't matter what state you are from, you are bound by the rules. last number of your plate determines if you're odd/even. no numbers = odd.

Fill up in New York before coming to New Jersey. Surely it don't take more than a full tank to make the round trip "OR" if you need gas when you get here and your plate is odd but it's an even day feel free to spend an extra day in The Garden State so you can gas up. BTW not all counties are odd / even.
