I think nothing bad of Cory and he may have governor potential one day, but he still has to prove himself in Newark. He's a great person, and most likely going to be a great mayor in the long run, but I don't think he's ready for the big house yet.
I like Booker a lot, but also do like Christie alot.
I would prefer they not run against each other. Now if Christie takes a cabinet post in Romney administration then I would be delighted to vote for Booker.
If Christie stays as governor, I would prefer that Booker run for senator. It woudl be awesome if both BOOKER and CHRIsTIE represented NJ.
I completely agree. I wish Booker would run against Menendez or take Granpa's place when he retires.
He can still run against him the primary (or he could have this past primary).
I admit I don't know all that much about politics, but does this happen in normal circumstances, assuming the incumbent hasn't done something politically suicidal or scandalous?

It's very hard (almost impossible) to oust a sitting incumbent from within the same party, but it does happen. Republicans almost ousted Arlen Specter in the primary election. The primaries take place before the national election and the winner becomes the official candidate for that party in that election.
Booker could run as an independent. NJ is one of the states where even voters registered to the various parties support independents and vote split tickets and across party lines.
Of course he should run for governor ... he's done such a great job in Newark
hes done better than others
u cant change a city overnight
