I live in south river and work in edison. i leave the house at 7 to get my daughter to her babysitter in old bridge by 7:15ish. from there i go thru jamesburg to get the turnpike. i'm usually at work by 8. if i take 18, then i don't get in until 8:30. so about 45 minutes. when there's no traffic, and i leave from home it's a 10-15 minute drive up the turnpike.

I live in the Packanack Lake section of Wayne, and work in Chelsea in Manhattan... Usually its - Leave the house at 7am, board a 7:10am NJ Transit bus at the Route 23 Park & Ride, arrive in Port Authority by 7:40am, and inside my office by 8am.....

Now with car accidents, bad weather, stalled buses, etc... Arriving at work is more like 8:30am to 9am...

Man, some of you guys commute FAR. I hate commuting. I dont know how you guys do it. If I ever had to take a job more than 20 or 30 minutes away, I would move.

Tinton Falls to Wall Street. Leave the house at 5:30 am to Harrison Path station about 50 minutes, 20 minute Path ride, 15 minutes to walk to building. roughly hour and a half.

I refuse to pay 600.00 for the Ferry

did you factor in the wear and tear on your car doing almost 100 mile a day?
in addition the stress if driving cannot be monetized, I am sure you don't get home so fast

Is the the Belford ferry? I took that a few times when I had clients down in Lincroft. In all honesty, that is probably the most relaxing and beautiful commute in the state.

Toms River (I love Barnegat bay also) to Union (drop off my daughter at daycare) to Elizabeth (near the Goethals Bridge) I leave at 5:45am, and on a good day I arrive at work at 7:45 and on bad days as late as 8:30. So, 2 hours each way...if anyone knows of any teaching positions closer to Toms River I'm available (and obviously very dedicated to the teaching profession - who else would travel 4 hours a day if they didn't love what they do?)
