Started a new thread because I thought this one warranted it. I'm not sure it's the entire island, but at least part of it has power and water as of late last night. The water pressure is really, really low, but it is flowing.

Also helicopter patrols and mandatory curfew, National Guard are carrying assault weapons and are not playing games.

It's my understanding that the natural gas lines are damage/destroyed and will have to be replaced. A process to take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. Most houses are heated by natural gas, so if they use electric space heaters to heat there homes, I would expect some hefty heating bills this winter for LBI residents. Although I read one of the towns city hall switched over to propane, I don't see why residents can't do the same.
