I was out today and overheard someone say a street in my town won't have power until 12/16. My husband heard yesterday some neighborhoods won't have power until Thanksgiving. I'm hoping with all my might this isn't true.
i heard the same thing,no sure how true that could be though.
I'm been through multi-day outages more than a few times. Estimates are worthless. when they get it done they get it done. Weather will pulls crews from the lines. but more importantly, much of the work isn't simply pulling the lines back up but repairing or replacing equipment that was damaged or destroyed. The huge numbers of replacements mean that supplies are tight and the parts aren't always available or have to come in from great distances.
This wasn't a simple storm where repairs are done in hours or a few days. This rivals some of the more serious in recent times. Be thankful it wasn't a Cat 2 or 3. Up here some power still has not been restored and it will be a few more day for them.
