From Gov. Christie's briefing today on preparations for the nor'easter Athena:

National Guard is assisting with the preparations and assisting the people being evacuated.

They are making sure people have access to warm meals during the storm.

Atlantic City is using their convention center as a shelter.

They are increasing the dunes along the shorelines.

According to one of the TV channels, I think this is the first time that this is being done.

I bet its not the first time a winter storm has been given a name, but probably the first time for The Weather Channel.
